Hi! I’m Jeff. I’m so glad you’ve joined me! Here you will find joie de vivre for lovers of nature, travel, food and spirits, and other simple pleasures.

Into The Blue is a new calling for me after a long career in government and military service that included postings in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. I’ve also been blessed to learn and grow at West Point, Johns Hopkins, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Institut Biblique Belge in Brussels.

I’m an avid voyager, camper, hiker, van lifer, craft beer drinker, and lover of Europe. I love a good adventure, and I’ve felt the forest’s call since I was little. That’s where I meet God.

What is Into the Blue?

Into The Blue is a way of life. It is taking a leap of faith into joy, finding delight in simple things. It is engaging life as an explorer.

Into The Blue features a weekly newsletter that explores a simple joy, like a road trip or a heavenly meal. Sometimes, the topic will be more contemplative, such as a celebration of friendship. Each essay concludes with a meditation.
